She single handedly creates her line traveling to Nepal, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Burma, China and Italy where she designs and creates her gorgeous line -all evocative of her exotic destinations. Kumari makes several trips a year to oversee product design with her personal team of weavers, embroiderers, beaders and jewellery makers. She believes that the perfect accessory has not only the ability to uplift sprits but to inspire entire outfits. Accessorize any outfit with a Kumari’s pieces, collecting and cherishing them for years to come. Kumari’s passion for accessories and fashion inspired her to launch her business in 1999 when she began out of her home in Toronto. The explosive growth of Kumari’s line delivered a Boutique in the heart of Yorkville in 2004.

Kumari has been featured in the Globe and Mail, The National Post, the Toronto Star, Fashion Magazine, Flare, Canadian Living, Canadian House and Home, Glow Magazine, Toronto Magazine, and Ocean Drive. Her treasures have also graced countless fashion editorials and are included in many fashion shows. Kumari has exquisite taste, loves what she does and is often sought out to comment and expand upon fashion must haves. During the Toronto Film Festival, and when shooting in the city, celebrities who love her accommodating and affable manner regularly visit Kumari’s boutique.

Kumari is also a Philanthropist. She has supported a number of charities and philanthropic efforts such as Princess Margaret Hospital, Women’s College Hospital Foundation Houselink Home Community Opportunity, the Pencer Brian Trust, the Ireland fund of Canada and others. Kumari has been nominated for the 2006, 2007 and 2008 RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur Award, and has received the Messenger Award in recognition of her contributions to social and cultural developments. Kumari’s was nominated for Where Toronto Magazines’ “Where to Shop” ‘readers’ choice awards. In 2008 she was featured in the HGTV Best Design of North America production for HGTV Canada, which featured her dressing room. She is also a Committee member for Fandango which fundraises for Bridgepoint Health Foundation.
